L’Oréal Paris – Skin Diagnosis

Role & Context

I served as Lead Motion Designer, working closely with UX, product, and strategy teams to shape a visual and motion system that supported usability, accessibility, and brand trust. My role focused on translating complex diagnostic logic into a
human-centered, guided experience aligned with L’Oréal’s science-backed positioning.

 

Overview

Product-driven digital experience supporting L’Oréal Paris’ Skin Diagnosis tool, designed to guide users through a complex skincare assessment with clarity, confidence, and trust.
 

The Challenge

Skin analysis can feel clinical and intimidating — especially in a digital environment where credibility and usability are essential. L’Oréal needed a way to clearly explain the experience, reduce friction, and encourage completion without overwhelming users.
 

Design Strategy

  • Guided motion: Subtle animations directed attention step-by-step, reducing cognitive load

  • Humanized visuals: Clean, friendly motion softened clinical subject matter

  • Trust-first pacing: Animation rhythm reinforced confidence and comprehension
     

Impact

  • Improved clarity and usability of the Skin Diagnosis experience

  • Increased user confidence navigating sensitive skincare topics
