DEPT x Twitch Social was tasked with covering TwitchCon 2023, its first time happening in Las Vegas. Our goals were to hype up the community with encouragement to attend and partner with Twitch to cover the event live on social.
Our creative consisted of lead-up content driving awareness and hype around the event, showcasing talent and other internal events, along with live event coverage throughout the weekend and fun memes to include those who were not in attendance (that FOMO feeling) and a recap of the overall event as a final wrap up to get the communities excited for the next one.
The content was optimized for all channels :@Twitch, @TwitchCon, @TwitchRivals on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
In addition to our TwitchCon content we created a uniquely Twitch community meme: the TOUCH GRASS station, reclaiming the notion that gamers don't go outside, bringing the outside to the the convention. We also recognized that in every con there's a lot of excitement and action but also need a moment of rest and something to do while you wait - the team designed and created an Instagram playable game filter featuring the popular emote :CoolCat: running through the Las Vegas convention scape.
As Art Director of the account, I was in charge of all direction between design, motion, and edit, remotely giving guidance to the team on the ground as well as direction for the remote teams, as well as facilitating communications with creative and production to ensure quality strategic work and timely live coverage.
